We love small production wines. We love them because they are farmed thoughtfully and naturally, and tend to be delicious expressions of terroir and varietal. This rosé of the very important Aglianico grape is no exception. The hand-drawn label of neighbor farmer Don Michele and his dog won us over at first sight. Labels do that - they inform the palate and sort of let us know what we’re opening before we get into the juice. This deep red rosato is medium-bodied and relaxed, a perfect autumn rosé. It drinks more like a light red than your typical Provence pink, with strawberry on the nose and mineral cherry on the palate. Pairs perfectly with spicy foods, pasta, and candy corns. No worries if you don’t get to it right away, it will be perfect with your Thanksgiving feast.
