The Soave Classico is varietal Garganega drawn from three vineyard sites, Sengialta, Monte Carniga, and Campagnola. The soils are both clay-limestone and volcanic. The densely planted vines are an average of 25 years-old.

The fruit is hand-harvested, and the wine is aged in steel to preserve the freshness of the fruit, and to accentuate the fine, silky minerality which the soils impart.

About this wine producer: The Balestri Valda winery is owned by the Rizzotto family who farm 15 hectares of vines in the basaltic soils of Soave. These estate bottles wines are produced by Guido Rizzotto and his daughter, Laura, who has been moving the vineyards to organic farming, and is in the process of obtaining certification. The estate-bottled wines represent about 5,500 total cases.
